Product Description
The 8 Mil Reinforced Crawl Space Vapor Barrier is a strong, practical choice for crawl space encapsulation when you want reinforced protection without moving into a heavier 12 mil or 20 mil liner. This dependable vapor barrier works great in crawl spaces with relatively smooth to moderately rough ground, normal installation traffic, and standard future access needs.
This string-reinforced vapor barrier helps block ground moisture while giving the crawl space a clean, finished appearance. The 8 mil thickness and internal reinforcement make it a much stronger crawl space liner than thin, non-reinforced plastic sheeting, while still keeping the material manageable for installation.
The liner is white on one side and black on the other. Install with the black side facing down and the white side facing up.
It can be used across the crawl space floor, around piers, and on foundation walls.
For best results, overlap seams and use the right accessories during installation:
- Use Crawl Space Vapor Barrier Tape to seal overlapped seams.
- Use Vapor Barrier Staples to help hold the material in place, especially around edges, corners, and wall transitions.

Vapor barrier plastic
The only reason it’s not a 5 is because this last order the plastic came apart at the seam, I ordered the 12x100. I didn’t realize it until I had already cut to size and was rolling it out in crawl space. This is my 8th vapor barrier order from this company. Haven’t ever had a problem, probably just a manufacturing issue. I’ll order the next one from them not going to stop just from one roll.
